2001- Establishment of the Syrian virtual university

Beneficiary: Syrian Ministry of Higher Education
Contract Duration: 4 years
An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Knowledge Solutions Company – Lebanon to build a virtual university, aiming to be one of the leading universities globally in this field.The agreement included the following:

- Building the technical infrastructure.
- Building the software infrastructure.
- Developing the organizational and administrative structure.
- Building and training staff to manage the project after four years.

The Executive Director, Dr. Milad Al-Sabali, and the Administrative Director, Mr. Emile Abboud led the team. The executive plan for the project was set, which aimed to complete the construction within three years and train and hand over to a delegated university team in the fourth year.
The administrative and logistical team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, selected the location within the ministry and worked on its renovation and layout to suit the university's operations. Meanwhile, the marketing team worked on building the visual identity and logos for the university, in addition to creating marketing videos. The technical team worked on building installations and equipping the site with advanced technology. The administrative team developed the organizational structures, job descriptions, roles, and operational rules, as well as finding solutions for education by setting up agreements to establish access centers in provinces for studying and exams, as internet access at that time was limited to a small group of people.
The academic team worked on designing the curriculum, developing the courses, and collaborating with the external relations team to open doors with global educational institutions and universities to secure accreditations and curricula. Additionally, the relations team worked hard to explain and promote this type of education, especially to the university faculty, through visits and discussions across Syrian provinces.

The Syrian Virtual University was inaugurated in 2002 by the President of Syria, in the presence of elites from Syria and Lebanon, marking an important event as it was one of the first virtual universities globally. A team from the Ministry was trained to fully take over the university in 2004.

2006 - Development of Information Technology Curriculum

The curriculum plan, subject’s descriptions, and textbooks were created and transformed into
E-learning lessons.
2008 - Development of Law Curriculum:
Beneficiary: Syrian Virtual University

A committee of experts in curriculum development and law professionals was formed to set the execution plan for the project, which included:

- Developing the curriculum plan.
- Describing the subjects.
- Writing the textbooks.
- Evaluating the books through scientific and linguistic assessment committees.
- Academic receipt by the university.
- Converting the textbooks into interactive books.
- Technical evaluation.
- Final receipt by the university.

The textbooks were delivered in phases according to the academic years.

2010 - Technical Assistance Project for Supporting Secondary Education Curricula

Beneficiary: Ministry of Education, Syrian Arab Republic
Project Duration: 1 year
The company worked as a local partner with a group of European companies (Sofreco, France), funded by the European Commission.

2008 - Development of Law Curriculum

Beneficiary: Syrian Virtual University

- Developing the curriculum plan.
- Describing the subjects.
- Writing the textbooks.

2012 - Development of Media Curriculum

Beneficiary: Syrian Virtual University

Contract Duration: 6 years

Accreditation from Ohio University.

A team was formed by Ohio University, the company, and the Syrian Virtual University. The committee worked on the following:

- Developing the curriculum.
- Describing the subjects.
- Writing the materials in stages.

Ohio University withdrew in 2013 due to the war, and the project continued with the local team.

2018 - Development of Website and Database

Beneficiary: Ministry of Administrative Development, Syrian Arab Republic

Project Duration: 8 months

The company worked on analyzing and programming a website and databases for the ministry, in addition to creating a training platform.

2019 - Development of Hotel School Curriculum in the Syrian Arab Republic

Beneficiary: Syrian Ministry of Tourism

Project Duration: 1 year

In collaboration with the Phoenicia Association and funded by UNDP, a team lead by Mr. Emile Abboud, along with the company, the Ministry of Tourism, and experts from Lebanon and Italy, worked on developing the curriculum, subjects descriptions, and textbooks, followed by training the teaching staff on modern teaching methods.

2020 - Development of Tourism Program

Beneficiary: Syrian Virtual University and Ministry of Tourism, Syrian Arab Republic

Project Duration: 10 years

A team worked to create the curriculum for the Tourism program, describing the subjects, writing them, and transforming them into simple interactive e-books. The writing and development were distributed over four years.

2020 - Revision of Law Curriculum

Beneficiary: Syrian Virtual University

Project Duration: 10 years

A team worked to re-describe the subjects descriptions, write them, and convert them into simple interactive e-books.

2020 - Establishment and Executive Management of Continuous Learning and Training Center

Beneficiary: Syrian Virtual University

Project Duration: 15 years

The company established and equipped a training center in Damascus (Carlton square) in accordance with international training standards, both for direct and online training. The project also included establishing centers in provinces for continuous learning within the framework of the Syrian Virtual University’s continuous learning program.

The company team, in collaboration with a team from the university and field experts, developed training packages and specialized diplomas in the fields of information technology, networking, , management, economics, engineering, media, tourism, law, and international relations. Additionally, they developed the necessary marketing and management plans to ensure the project's success.

2021 - Trainer Training

Beneficiary: Syrian Arab Red Crescent

Project Duration: 3 months

The company conducted a training course for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent team on building training capabilities and also creating and printing the training materials for trainees.

2022 - Implementation of Training Programs

Beneficiary: Syrian Society for Social Development

Project Duration: 1 year

The training team implemented courses in various fields in Damascus, Rural Damascus, and Aleppo.

2022 - Implementation of Training Programs

Beneficiary: Aga Khan Foundation

Project Duration: 6 months

The training team conducted courses in management and information technology in Mhardeh, Salamia, and Homs.

2022 - Development of Website and Systems

Beneficiary: General commission for Tourism and Hotel Training

Project Duration: 4 months

The programming team analyzed, described, and built a website, along with a system for automating data of educational and training facilities and connecting qualified staff to tourism establishments.

2022 - Development of Employment Platform

Beneficiary: Ministry of Tourism

Project Duration: 1 month

The programming team designed, analyzed, and built a platform to attract specialized expertise in tourism and connect them to the market.

2024 - Development of Training Platform and Courses

Beneficiary: Syrian Arab Red Crescent

Project Duration: 4 months

The company signed an agreement to build a training platform and develop 3 training courses into interactive e-learning courses. The platform allows self-training, where trainees register and choose the course they need.

The platform has been presented multiple times to the relevant teams at the Red Crescent, and the necessary modifications were made to ensure it meets their requirements. Similarly, the training aspect was customized to their specific needs. The company has trained a team from the Red Crescent to manage and provide technical support for the platform. The final delivery was completed as per the contract.

Post-delivery, a contract addendum was agreed upon to train personnel from the governorates on how to use the platform, and to develop new training materials.

2024 - Development of E-books

Implementing Entity: Zenon Educational Platform

Project Duration: 2 months

An agreement was signed to convert textbooks for the 9th, 10th, 11th grades, and Baccalaureate into simple interactive e-books.

The platform administration has provided the books for the aforementioned grades and has identified the terms that require explanation, along with the required explanations. A team from the company's book development department will provide the necessary explanations in place of the terms that require clarification, ensuring adherence to the platform's visual identity.

2024 - Development of Interactive E-books

Implementing Entity: Zenon Educational Platform

Project Duration: 4 months

An agreement was signed with Zenon Educational Platform to develop scientific books and foreign languages for the Syrian Baccalaureate curriculum and convert them into interactive lessons. The project duration is four months to produce high-level educational material, with clear work standards for quality control.

The company's book development department has devised an execution plan based on clear criteria (in terms of the number of experts and the timeframes allocated to each phase of the project).

Each lesson undergoes the following stages:

- A scenario is developed for the lesson (by a select group of teachers seconded by the company).
- The scenario is evaluated scientifically (by teachers seconded by the Zenon platform).
- The scenario is then passed on to the educational designer who describes the images and videos for the lesson.
- The graphic designer then selects the images and colors that are suitable for the company's visual identity and the book.
- The book is then passed on to the sound recording team for cutting and editing.

The lesson is placed on the platform for technical evaluation and adaptation to the platform's operation.

2019 - Development of Online Training Courses

Beneficiary: Ministry of Administrative Development, Syrian Arab Republic

Project Duration: 1 year

The ministry provided training material in several fields for the company to convert into interactive training courses.
